We have travelled world and the seven seas looking for something and that something is the perfect beer, if there truly is such a thing.
From the rolling hills of California to the smoky cellars of Bavaria, from our homeland in Scotland to our spiritual home in Bohemia. We have toasted classic Czech lagers, hoppy American pale ales, sampled the black gold and even paid our respects to the mighty Anchor Brewery in San Francisco.

Over the years, we’ve painstakingly recreated and refined our favourite styles from around the world, adding a little Macca & The Bear magic along the way. So we fired up our kettle, tuned our recipes, and brewed our own versions of the beers we love.
MACCA AND THE BEAR BEERS
M&B SPECIAL
Scottish 70/- Ale (heavy)
Most Scottish ales are called ‘Special’ beers. The 70/- means 70 shillings. Historical taxation laws based on alcohol content categorised beers into various shillings such as 60/- (Light), 70/- (Heavy), and 80/- (Export).

CZECH ME OOT!

AULD REEKIE
Smoked Ale (rauchbier)
Auld Reekie (scots: Old Smoky) was a nickname given to Edinburgh many years ago because of the smoke from house chimneys. It would fill the air with thick heavy smoke or smog. Because this is a smoked style beer we chose the name Auld Reekie.

VITAL SPARK
Californian Common Beer (steam)
This is our tribute to the legendary but now lost, Anchor Steam Beer. Inspired by its bold spirit, we crafted a brew that’s full of character and charm. We call it Vital Spark, named after the plucky little steam puffer boat that, like this beer, keeps on going.

ROUTE 6.6
American Pale Ale
Every good brewery needs an American Pale Ale on tap. We loved Dales Pale Ale so much that we decided this would be ours and with an ABV of 6.6% there was only one choice for the name.

NUT NUT
English Pale Ale
One story goes that this ale got its name from the smooth nutty flavour while on the other hand it may have gotten its name from someone close to the former PM. What could be more quintessentially English?

| Hops | Northern Brewer, East Kent Goldings | SRM (Colour) | 7.3 | |

Inspired by the legendary black brew, our take on the dry Irish stout is bolder, richer, and just a bit more daring. It’s familiar, yet full of surprises. And the name? Well, what else could we possibly have called it?

| Hops | East Kent Goldings | SRM (Colour) | 34 | |
