We are John (aka Macca) and Graeme (aka The Bear), and we’ve been on a global mission: to track down the world’s most legendary beers, one delicious pint at a time.
From the world best Czech lagers to Bavarian Hefewiezen bursting with citrus flavours to hop-heavy IPAs, we’ve sipped, savoured, and saluted some of the finest brews known to humankind.
But there was just one problem – We couldn’t take them all home. (Well, not legally and not without a VERY big suitcase). So, we did the only logical thing two beer-obsessed mates could do: We started brewing them ourselves.
What started as a passion project in a garage has now become a full-blown obsession: and we’re finally ready to share it with fellow beer lovers like you.
The Name

Where Did The Name Come From?
Bear with us on this one… here goes… The name comes from a combination of many factors. Those with a Scottish persuasion have probably already realised that, like many things in Scotland, it involves football, one green and the other blue, a famous Celtic football player called Frank (Macca) McAvennie, a nickname for Rangers football supporters and an Eastern European children’s cartoon. Give them a good mix and you finally come up with Macca And The Bear.
